I worked as Sr. Operations Executive for BHEL, a power plant equipment manufacturer, owned by the Government of India. In this role I lead the company’s procurement and materials management, overseeing a team of two supervisors and engineers. Our most exciting work to date was the purchase of Low Load Feed Water Control Valve through Open Tender Process, the first of its kind in BHEL-PEM. I have also been closely associated with the procurement of Mechanical Auxiliaries Packages for 4x125MW Kosti Sudan(Export job). Not only did we learn to steer the new tendering procedures in a Government set-up , but also we found it rewarding to see the results.
