ABSTRACT : This paper examined womens experiences and perceptions of women in law enforcement in Davao City. A non-probability purposive sampling technique was used in the study's online questionnaire to the respondents and in surveying the target number of respondents. There are two hundred (200) respondents to this study, and the respondents are women in law enforcement in Davao City. The researchers also included wonder woman which symbolizes how women lead, value justice, and empower women. The findings of this study revealed that the level of perception of women in law enforcement is often manifested. In addition, there is no statistically significant difference between the indicators and the profile of the respondents. The Feminist theory by Wollstonecraft in 1972 anchored the study which promotes the individualism and self-development of all women. Therefore, women achieved greater opportunities even in a male-dominated workplace also, the researchers concluded that women in law enforcement give more opportunities to the next generation of female officers. The researchers recommend that the Philippine National Police should support womens advancement and mentoring programs to further enhance the leadership role of every woman in the law enforcement field.

ASSESSING COMMUNITY HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT NEEDS: A CASE STUDY OF SITIO TAGALEB, IBA, ZAMBALES /slideshow/assessing-community-health-and-development-needs-a-case-study-of-sitio-tagaleb-iba-zambales/274754416 f248123943-250109075525-744a31ce
ABSTRACT: Limited access to healthcare in rural and indigenous communities, such as Sitio Tagaleb, Barangay Bangantalinga, Iba, Zambales, significantly contributes to health disparities and exacerbates socioeconomic inequalities. This study explores the healthcare and other development needs of Sitio Tagaleb, a newly adopted community of President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU), to propose extension programs through a community-university partnership. Using a case study design, data were gathered through focus group discussions with 60 heads of families and 20 barangay officials. Thematic analysis revealed several urgent needs, including healthcare support, improved access to medical supplies, basic first aid training, family planning education, livelihood opportunities, clean water, alternative energy sources, and infrastructure development. The findings underscored the necessity of a holistic, multi-sectoral approach to community extension services, where PRMSUs College of Nursing could address health-related needs, while other colleges could support agricultural development, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy initiatives. The study recommends the establishment of targeted extension programs, collaboration with government agencies, and continuous community engagement to ensure sustainable impact. Future studies may benefit from incorporating quantitative methods for a broader assessment of community needs. KEYWORDS: Community needs-assessment, extension program, ]]>

ABSTRACT : It is generally accepted that early civilizations--especially those steeped in religion--viewed time as a cyclical event. John S. Mbiti in his book, African Religions and philosophy (1969) felt that Africans understood or perceived time as a solely cyclical event. Revolving around the harvest and recurring religious events, early populations, he posited, would never achieve modern-society status, forever stuck in a revolving door of time. Also the Ethiopian resercher Mesay Kebede (2013) accepted this idea. Considering its 4th century adoption of Christianity. Ethiopia is no exception. Yet, due to the introduction of Western values during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie in the 20th century, the perception of time as not only a cyclical, but also as a linear event, began seeping into the consciousness of the society. Yet, in Ethiopia, evidence for both cyclical and linear time concepts were clear, despite its agrarian roots and history steeped in religion. ]]>

ABSTRACT: The thesis studies socio-economic effects of the iPhone trade between the USA and India, namely analyzing what this trade means for economic growth, technology transfer, and employment for both countries. Through quantitative data and economic modeling, one finds a variety of benefits: for example, development of manufacturing industry boosting the employment rate in India and the improvements in the iPhones produced in the USA to stay competitive in the Indian market. However, one also uncovers socioeconomic discrepancies porous to lifestyle: one may analyze how this trade would affect wages, changes in peoples attitudes as consumers, etc. Finally, policy implications based on the thesis findings are also examined: one may suggest how this trade can be promoted to showcase the benefits and prevent the negative outcomes. Thus, the thesis provides a multifaceted look at the role of international trade in developing and developed countries economy and technological advancement. IMPACT OF CAPITAL FLIGHT ON NIGERIA DOMESTIC INVESTMENT IN A FINANCIALLY GLOBALIZED WORLD ECONOMY /slideshow/impact-of-capital-flight-on-nigeria-domestic-investment-in-a-financially-globalized-world-economy/274080048 v24811187197-241215101253-2c765db4
ABSTRACT: This study investigates the impact of capital flight on Nigerian domestic investment within the context of a financially globalized world, employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to explore long-run relationships. The study examines key variables, including capital flight, interest rates, exchange rates, foreign direct investment (FDI), and external debt, to assess their effects on domestic investment. The ARDL model results reveal that capital flight has a positive but statistically insignificant impact on domestic investment. Conversely, interest rates exhibit a negative relationship with domestic investment, implying that higher interest rates discourage investment activities. Exchange rates, on the other hand, have a significant positive impact, indicating that currency depreciation may boost domestic investment by improving competitiveness.Foreign direct investment shows a weak positive relationship with domestic investment but lacks statistical significance, suggesting its limited direct influence in the long run. External debt has a significant negative effect on domestic investment, signifying that high debt levels crowd out investment by diverting resources to debt servicing. The study concludes that, while capital flight does not significantly affect domestic investment, external factors such as exchange rates and external debt play critical roles in shaping investment decisions in Nigeria. The findings highlight the need for policy measures aimed at stabilizing exchange rates, managing external debt, and reducing interest rates to foster a more conducive environment for domestic investment. Furthermore, curbing capital flight through stricter regulations and improving financial sector reforms could help enhance domestic investment in a financially globalized world. ABSTRACT. This research examines the impact of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), Green Innovation (GI), Green Competitive Advantage (GCA), and Waste Management Policy (WMPP) on the Enviropreneurship Performance (EP) of SMEs in Indonesia. Using the Resource-Based View (RBV) approach, this study develops a model that interconnects these variables. Data analysis from 333 respondents using AMOS 25 revealed significant positive relationships among all studied variables. GSCM was found to enhance both waste management policies and green innovation, which is particularly crucial given Kalimantan Indonesia's environmental challenges. Green competitive advantage serves as a mediator between GSCM and enviropreneurship performance. The findings indicate varying implementations of green practices across Kalimantan's provinces, reflecting the different characteristics of dominant industries in each region. This study makes theoretical contributions by expanding the understanding of enviropreneurship performance in the context of developing economies. Practical implications include recommendations for integrating GSCM, green innovation, and waste management to enhance the enviropreneurship performance of SMEs in Kalimantan. The research emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in managing environmental aspects of business to achieve sustainable economic development in the region. ABSTRACT : Taboos occupy a very important place in Beninese families. African family education is essentially based on taboos. Prohibitions are found in all areas of family education. We must succeed in treating the superego of taboos in the teaching-learning process. How to achieve this? The objective of our article is to recognize African values. But when these values impose themselves as prohibitions which become the superego on the learner, blocking the teaching-learning process, we must remedy this by first and foremost providing psychological treatment to the learner. The mixed methodology that we used, which consists of a documentary study and an empirical study, field research, allowed us to understand that Beninese learners have a lot of abilities. We must help them by freeing them from the superego of taboos so that they can prove their skills in the teaching-learning process. ABSTRACT: This research study focused on the lived experiences of school-helping professionals, primarily on their struggles and motivation to persist in their chosen careers, which have been overlooked until today. Using a descriptive qualitative method, precisely a phenomenological approach, 17 professionals were invited to share their experiencesthrough in-depth interviews orfocus group discussions. Thisstudy employed purposive sampling to choose respondents who were fit to participate. The data in this study was collected using focus group discussions and individual interviews. With these methods employed, we can have two viewpoints of the participants. The data in this study was analyzed using thematic analysis following Colaizzi's method, which involves systematically identifying key themes and patterns, helping capture the participants' core ideas. The result showed that these professionals experienced self-doubt, getting disturbed by the cases they handled, and feeling drained and stressed after work while conducting their profession. However, they manage these challenges and difficulties by realizing self-growth and progress, being resourceful and resilient, and reducing stressthrough self-care. However, their profession has made them feel fulfilled and accomplished, recognizing continuous learning and growth and that their profession is a blessing and an opportunity. Mitigation Implementation of PERMENHUB No. 58/2013and its amendment No. 39/2021on Maritime Pollution Control at Panjang Port: Stakeholder Coordination and Environmental Protection /slideshow/mitigation-implementation-of-permenhub-no-58-2013and-its-amendment-no-39-2021on-maritime-pollution-control-at-panjang-port-stakeholder-coordination-and-environmental-protection/274051326 q24811146154-241214052726-a06baed4
ABSTRACT : This study examines the implementation of Transportation Minister Regulation No. 58/2013 and its amendment No. 39/2021 concerning pollution prevention at Panjang Port, Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Using qualitative methods and the Van Horn and Van Meter implementation model, the research analyzes policy implementation effectiveness, supporting and hindering factors, and proposes an enhanced implementation framework. Data was collected through interviews with key stakeholders from five institutions: Port Authority (KSOP), Naval Base (LANAL), Maritime Police (POLAIRUD), Ministry of Environment (KLHK), and Port Corporation (PELINDO). The findings reveal significant improvements in environmental compliance, with vessel compliance rates increasing from 65% to 87% between 2014-2023. Key success factors include strong inter-agency coordination, technological advancement, and community engagement. However, challenges persist in budget constraints, organizational culture differences, and technical capacity limitations. The study proposes an integrated implementation model incorporating transparency, accountability, and stakeholder participation principles. This research contributes to understanding maritime environmental policy implementation in developing nations while providing practical recommendations for enhancing pollution control measures at ports. The experience at Panjang Port demonstrates that successful environmental regulation implementation requires balancing economic, social, and environmental factors while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and operational efficiency.
