As soon as I returned to the UK I started writing about my experiences on visiting Sal. At the time of visiting Sal I was working for a local authority and had been with them for over 30yrs. In December 2015 I decided I needed a lifestyle change and was successful in being granted a 2yr sabbatical and started to plan my move to Sal in March 2006. The notes of my experiences on Sal become the start of my website ‘Cape Verde Tips’ which I launched in January 2006.
