I guess I'm just an ordinary guy whose life has been guided by the kind acts of others. I really don't think I'd be sitting here today if it wasn't for a phone call I received on June 5th, 1986. I was offered a swim instructor/coach position in Jenison. I believe that was a "God thing", a defining moment in my life where the direction I was heading took a positive and abrupt turn. From there, I experienced the joys of children and the partnership with parents. This phone call, I believe, led me to amazing opportunities I would never have had (6th grade camp, teaching for JPS, RAYS, college, age group swimming, friends, and meeting my wife). I could go on,
