My research areas include animal behavior, behavioral ecology, and mammalogy. My research style blends study perspectives from the three main fields of animal behavior: Psychology, Ethology, and Behavioral Ecology. I conduct both field and laboratory experiments while examining proximate and ultimate causes of animal behavior from the perspective of the natural history of the subject.
My outreach efforts emphasize sharing science to under-served groups, particularly African-American high school students and young adults, via outdoor programming and social media.
