He has been a Staff member in the Microbiology Department since 1996. He has been head of the Unit since 2004, and Associate Professor in the Genetics and Microbiology Department of the "Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona" since 2002. During his education, he carried out a 10-month visit (between 1993 and 1994) at the "Unitée des Agents Antibactériens" (Dr. Patrice Courvalin) in the Institute Pasteur in Paris.
