After completing my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology from the University of Dhaka, I began my academic career as a lecturer of Sociology at Northern University Bangladesh. I won the Monbusho Scholarship (postgraduate) to study at Sophia University in Tokyo, where I earned my MA in Global Studies. Subsequently, I entered the PhD program in Sociology at the University of California Los Angeles and moved from Japan to the USA.
