Interreg BSR: Guidance for EU emblem use final /slideshow/interreg-bsr-guidance-for-eu-emblem-use-final/75772637 interregbsrguidanceforeuemblemusefinal-170508100947
This guidance is part of the support services to project partners in the EU funding programme Interreg Baltic Sea Region. The document aims at clarifying how the EU emblem (or „EU flag“) can be used correctly in communication of Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects. It is meant for communication managers and project partners as well as their service-providers. In the document, we point to where the rules can be found, we interpret the corresponding regulations in the context of our Programme and we provide examples from the projects. Please note that the purpose of these examples is simply to illustrate possible mistakes and possible solutions. We are fully aware that the regulations are complex. Therefore we provide you with this guidance to help you avoid mistakes and save your resources. Note: This guidance displays example from first call projects. For projects of the second call, the corporate design and the guidance is updated with the EU flag size slightly increased. ]]>

More than 99% of all companies are small and medium-sized enterprises, providing most training positions and creating the majority of new jobs. In the Baltic Sea Region SMEs account for around 55% of value added and 65% of employment of all companies. This translates into over 26 million people employed by SMEs. In times of economic recession, supporting SMEs translates into supporting economic recovery and labour market stabilisation in the EU. The innovation projects partfinanced within the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013, in 2012, together formed a project cluster called Innovation in SMEs. What do our SMEs need in the next few years or even the next decades? How can we maintain highly innovative SMEs in the BSR and boost the innovation capacities of our companies? This brochure looks into three core areas of innovation support: internationalisation and cooperation, qualification and education, and research and development.]]>

Baltic Impulse - saving the Baltic Sea Waters /InterregBalticSeaReg/bsr-cluster-water200x200web bsrclusterwater200x200web-150326095554-conversion-gate01
Pollution by nutrients (eutrophication) and hazardous substances pose serious threats to the Baltic Sea – coming both from the cities and the countryside. Read about how a Finnish and a Polish scientist worked on introducing a more reliable method to check water quality than is currently in place. Learn about future-oriented agriculture and how a German farmer and a Swedish agricultural adviser spread it throughout the macro-region. Understand how important proper waste water treatment is and hear from the Union of the Baltic Sea Cities why international cooperation is important. In between 2007 and 2013, biologists, engineers, public authorities and NGOs worked together across the different countries' borders in projects co-financed by the European Union. The EU funding helped them to find solutions to some of the most urgent problems in agriculture, water management and waste water treatment. This publication highlights results from eight out of 100 projects part-financed by the Baltic Sea Region Programme between 2007 and 20013. From 2014 on, the Programme will be continued under a new name, Interreg Baltic Sea Region.]]>
