Internet of Things is predicted to become a huge industry with billions connected devices and enormous volume of data generated. Even Big Data will not be big enough if it is not for IoT. Telecommunication industry is destined to play some role here and this role will certainly be opening the gates to the Internet for a massive number of sensors, objects and devices. However, it is expected that connection part of the IoT value chain would vary from 0 to mere 10 percent leaving the largest portion of created value to other industry players. CSPs are definitely in the show but are the last and the least in the guest list. Not all opportunities gone, of course, and some telecommunication majors transform the business and sophisticate the product lineups to capture more value going forward. There is still time for many CSPs to figure out how to take themselves from M2M mindset into the IoT paradigm through reimagining the business and building the ecosystem before the boat is missed altogether. Where trends are heading to, what products are first to be delivered and where in the value split CSPs can have more impact? I have shared my vision on this matter and would be grateful for receiving any of your thoughts too. Thank you!]]>

The Digital Telecom. Cloud Services /slideshow/the-digital-telecom-cloud-services-57213988/57213988 thedigitaltelecom-160119080932
Cloud is one of that kind of digital services that is already here and materialized. Cloud services landscape is becoming more and more dense but still there is a chance for telecom players to take part in that field. Unfortunately, Communication Service Providers are late to come in and therefore it is not sufficient to put computing capacities and just sell them anymore. The economy of scale reached by current industry leaders can barely be beaten even by the largest CSPs. Therefore, some other smarter options should be found to compete with likes of Amazon, Microsoft and Google. This ppt paper is just an effort to think of CSPs role in cloud services domain and any ideas and suggestions for further discussion is very welcome. Thank you!]]>

Strategyzing big data in telco industry /slideshow/stragegyzing-big-data-in-telco-industry-2/55548016 stragegyzingbigdataintelcoindustry2-151126142515-lva1-app6891
Strategizing Big Data in Telco Big data feels to be a very hot topic nowadays. Some industries depend on it completely, some have opportunities to roll out their strategies and execute, some just considering when it is a right time to hop in. To my mind, Big Data is not about technology. Big data is about people generating data and data used for the benefit of people. Big data is a pool of activities intended at processing the data a company owns (internal and external) so that to open new revenue opportunities, minimize costs and enhance UX. I had some ideas and thoughts on what telecommunication companies may start from in formulating the Big Data Strategy and so packed some of the most important pieces of thoughts into a small presentation. What is the difference between Small Data and Big Data? What kind of data is used currently and which is to be relied on a new paradigm? What kind of products are expected from telcos? My personal ranking of operators in terms of their Big Data execution What are the stages telcos should pass through to become a Big Data operator? Prerequisites for Big Data transformation Please take a look at the presentation to find answers to these questions and feel free to share your opinion. Thanks!]]>
