I gave a presentation at TravelCon, a conference for those in the travel industry, in Boston, MA, on June 29th, 2019. The presentation was on SEO for WordPress Travel Blogs. The conference is run by Matt Kepnes, who runs the travel blog Nomadic Matt. When I was working in the travel industry, I remember following Nomadic Matt as an example of an effective SEO travel blogger. The blurb/intro to the talk is as follows: If you are a travel blogger running your blog on WordPress, you should know about the plugins and other ways to improve your WordPress blog for search engine optimization. We’ll discuss the popular WordPress for SEO plugin by Yoast, as well as alternatives that can help with getting your blog posts seen by the right audience searching for your content on search engines. We’ll also discuss how to do keyword research, image optimization, and why you should be making use of Google Analytics and Google Search Console to make your blog the best it can be.
