Although governments and other institutions such as the World Health Organisation have a vested interest in combating this crime, the weight of the responsibility to fix this problem is most heavily felt by the legitimate pharmaceutical manufacturers. When consumers consume the counterfeit product that looks almost identical to the genuine product, who can blame the consumer for turning to the legitimate manufacturer for answers.
