Then I got a bit bigger until it became impossible for my Mum to dress me in my sister’s clothes. I will never forget the first day I was allowed to wear a pair of shorts instead of Joanne’s Rah-rah skirt and Bananarama inspired crop top. I was 12. I then developed the hairy bits and suddenly my budding career as Walsall’s number one Aled Jones impersonator came to a shuddering halt.
