Other technical elements vary between facilities, states and countries and in this sense; quality is always a competing issue. This article discusses how data flow operates within existing systems and how future innovations may aid the flow of data that is both meaningful to decision makers and practical in application. A transaction based care concept allows for integrated, connected and disconnected transactions to occur in real time. With a rapidly aging population in most western countries and sheer expansion of population growth within emerging countries including greater efforts to control and prevent HIV and pandemic events, our patients of the future deserve the very best technology that can be offered at the point of treatment and beyond. Each time we travel, we also understand how the world shrinks in terms of size and distance. An event may change a life forever in positive terms where information can be transacted safely, efficiently and effectively in real time. ]]>
