Git is notoriously difficult for writers to pick up. I think it's because we often try to carry non-distributed source control metaphors like "my bucket of things" into git. However, git is more a list of changes ordered in time than a bucket of stuff I own until I push it out. By banging on this bucket metaphor until it breaks, we can hopefully learn git more quickly.]]>
