Different types of sandwich composites are listed and the basics covered. The formulations and evaluation of the various mechanical properties are provided. Design optimization studies of sandwich composites is discussed and the solutions are given. Froud and Gibson Theories on Design optimization were found to be at fault and a more practical methodology is offered by the author. Important applications of sandwich composites are also listed at the end. A good deal of referencing is provided at the end. The author thanks ARDB of INDIA for the funding.]]>
