Migrant Resource Centre Workshop /slideshow/migrant-resource-centre-workshop/11835766 migrantresourceworkshop-120302112800-phpapp02
On Friday 24th February PhotoVoice’s Matt Daw and Clare Struthers delivered a photography and citizen journalism for ten members of the Migrant Resource Centre: Engaging Communities Project, in partnership with GlobalNet21. The workshop introduced those attending to the potential of photography as a way to speak out and be heard. Participants were introduced to the different styles and purposes of photography, and were given tips to increase the quality of their photographs and their power to communicate a message or a story. The photos in this slideshow are the results of an exercise to explore the area around the workshop venue – Whitecross Street in East London – and create a photograph that captures and conveys a particular perspective on it.]]>

A Load Of Bollards /slideshow/a-load-of-bollards/2883057 aloadofbollards-100111034001-phpapp01
A Load of Bollards is a project by A. Johnson, a photographer with retinitis pigmentosa - an eye condition that affects 25,000 families in the UK. In this slideshow he demonstrates the prevalence of poorly managed street repairs and roadworks in London, and the hazards they cause for visually impaired pedestrians. His aim is to encourage more care and consideration for disabled pavement users when planning and delivering repairs. All photos were taken in London in October 2009 with the support of Liz Orton, as part of Sights Unseen, a project which provides sensory photography training to blind and visually impaired people. For more details visit www.photovoice.org © A. Johnson / Sights Unseen / OBAC / PhotoVoice / November 2009]]>

The new charter, defined by the public, will bring trees back to the centre of public consciousness and political decision-making - where they belong. treecharter.uk/ https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/charterchampionpresentationsmall-160223125352-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/tree-charter-champion-presentation/58605578 Tree Charter Champion ... https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/theroadtosyria-140603104502-phpapp02-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/the-road-to-syria/35437615 The Road to Syria https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/developmentprogress-140428115925-phpapp02-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/development-progress/34038372 Development Progress
