Turns out that although there are lots of folks like me, there is still a hard core of people who prefer to use local search. In short they'd still like to Google it.
It's hardly the most robust piece of research I've conducted, but as a 24 hour project it worked for me. It reminded me that not everyone thinks like me. The exercise showed me that if you're a local business, marketing to local people - you need to have a social strategy (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc.) strategy AS WELL AS a search strategy (Google, Bing & Yahoo). Miss out on one and you miss out. Simple as that.]]>
