And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. The reason I talk to myself is that I'm the only one whose answers I accept. I have a lot of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly. There are old heads in the world who cannot help me by their example or advice to live worthily and satisfactorily to myself; but I believe that it is in my power to elevate myself this very hour above the common level of my life.
