Once thought to be a rare disorder that primarily affected nonverbal boys, autism today encompasses a wide spectrum of individuals. Now a school librarian in South San Antonio ISD, Adriana White was previously a special education teacher in North East ISD for 5 and a half years. She is also autistic, and would like to share what she has learned from her experience as an educator on the spectrum.
