Fearing the taunts of normal folk, I would hide out while wearing my Jayne Cobb hat, solving calculus problems for fun. While working with like-minded coffee addicts in network infrastructure and systems management, I learned UNIX, Linux, Microsoft, systems infrastructure and design, network architecture, scripting, and all those copious supporting tools that we tend to use.
