Developing the Resilience Marker Framework /slideshow/developing-the-resilience-marker-framework/10109984 11-11-10rmfportsmouth-111110145549-phpapp02
This presentation is about the development of the Resilience Markers Framework - which helps people recognise resilience strategies in practice. We first look at human error, the everyday resilience strategies, we seek help in the resilience literature, we introduce the framework, and apply it to an Oncology Day Care Unit study. Here are the two papers which provide the core of the presentation: 1) Furniss, D., Back, J., Blandford, A., Hildebrandt, M. & Broberg, H. (2011). A Resilience Markers Framework for Small Teams. Reliability Engineering and System Safety, 96 (1), p2-10. DOI:10.1016/j.ress.2010.06.025 2) Furniss, D., Back, J. & Blandford, A. (2011). Unwritten Rules for Safety and Performance in an Oncology Day Care Unit: Testing the Resilience Markers Framework. Proc. Fourth Resilience Engineering Symposium.]]>

https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/profile-photo-dominicfurniss-48x48.jpg?cb=1523191302 I am interested in investigating the design and use of artefacts, tools and methods 'in context'. Research in this area poses challenges in how one should deal with the complexities of context, i.e. how one should choose focus, gather data, do analysis and present findings. I have developed DiCoT as a tool for engaging with context from a Distributed Cognition perspective. I have also led work on developing a framework for observing resilience behaviours in context. Distributed Cognition and Resilience Engineering are frameworks that interest me greatly. domfurniss.wordpress.com https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/15-150312081122-conversion-gate01-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/150312-amia-d-cog-webinar-v1/45752125 15.03.12 amia d cog we... https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/informadfurnisslitess-121021035709-phpapp01-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/informa-d-furniss-lite-ss/14820311 Outlining the importan... https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/12-05-18domshowandtell-120521052819-phpapp01-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/dom-show-and-tell-120518/13011557 Dom show and tell 12.0...
