He stayed at the research group MICAS under Prof. Puers and Prof. Sansen coordinating an EU project for the development of an implantable liver assist device. This project brought him to Imperial College London in 2000 where he worked alongside Prof. Chris Toumazou in the establishment of their institute of Bioengineering and coordinating interdisciplinary research between the medical and engineering faculties. Together with Prof. Toumazou, he set-up Applied Bionics in 2003 in Singapore which looked after commercialisation of a number of technologies from Imperial College in Singapore.
