Brooks is Melanie Brooks's husband and father to four wonderful children--J端rgen, Clodagh, Bronwyn and Holland. He is a former All-State and All-American soccer goalkeeper who, along with his teammates, set several school records at both Rock Bridge High School (Columbia, MO) and Transylvania University (Lexington, KY). He also had brief stints with the Birmingham Grasshoppers and Lexington Bluegrass Bandits as a semi-professional soccer player before moving on to a career as an educator.
