Canfield of the Northern Pacific Railway. The area was later incorporated as a city within the state of Minnesota in May of 1881. Originally, a place of retirement for Thomas H. Canfield and then a railroad town for many decades, Lake Park gradually evolved into the community it is today located along U.S. Highway 10 where farm country meets lakes country.
