He received the venia docent in Applied Computer Science (Angewandte Informatik) from the Vienna University of Technology in 2014. He worked as a Research Assistant from 2003 to 2004 at the same university and, in January 2005, he joined the faculty as a Lecturer of Information Technology at the School of Educational Sciences. In the summer semester 2011 he has been Visiting Professor (Gastprofessor) at the Vienna University of Technology.
