the details • Located in a beautiful rural setting with rolling hills surrounding the property. • The congregation outgrew their existing Temple; new construction added 10,700 square feet. • A new Temple seats 350 and includes a new Narthex and Exonarthex. • The walls of the new Temple were left intentionally bare as a blank canvas so iconography, an important aspect of the Orthodox religion, can be added over time. The church has already begun the process of incorporating their iconography in the space. • The existing Temple and Fellowship Hall will remain on campus to be used for other functions. • The addition also created a new connector building to join the old and new Temples and the Fellowship Hall building. The space includes a cry room/bride’s room, new restrooms, church offi ces and workroom space, new atrium/classroom and a new bookstore.]]>

The expansion project included a 3,000 square foot addition to the original structure and a complete remodel of the existing 6,200 square foot building built in 1965. The new addition clearly stands on its own but respects and complements the original building while a full renovation of the existing space allowed for seamless interior spaces. Additional new features include a technology center with 24 public computers, a renovated meeting room, a dedicated young adult space, an improved children’s room, and an expanded genealogy section which includes a reading room and stacks. A staff work and break space as well as off-street parking were also added. The building is now handicap accessible and contains various improvements that will increase energy efficiency. Honoring the lives of Dr. & Mrs. Adams - both noted for working to advance Woodbury and Cannon County during their lifetimes - this project serves as a public space that enriches the lives of those in the community. ]]>
