I studied in my native Portugal where I graduated with a B.A. in Hospitality Management and subsequently, a D.E.S.E., Diploma of Specialised Higher Education, in Marketing. In 1999 I achieved an M.A. in Marketing at the University of Ulster, and in 2005 I was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (D.Phil.) in Marketing. Also in 2005, I completed the Vocational Teacher Education programme at Helia - Helsinki Business Polytechnic (now part of Haaga-Helia).
