/nguyetvuong/roleplaying-a-tcr-how-might-we-design-a-system-that-incentivizes-good-behavior-145888379
role-playingatcr-190515210041 A workshop for DevCon 4
A Token Curated Registry (TCR)鈥檚 rational choice model assumes that people will correctly weigh costs and benefits to calculate their choices. Meanwhile, behavioral economics shows that human beings have a limited ability to think about long-term implications of their actions, and are greatly influenced by context. Designing a DApp that uses a TCR must take into account the fact that users can be biased by short term rewards.
In this workshop, I will facilitate an interactive role-playing session to test how a user-centered TCR incentivizes good behavior. It is based on Civil鈥檚 TCR, a system that succeeds when our users are rational, but also accepts that they might not be. Volunteers from the audience will act out some stages of the TCR process.
What you will learn:
How a token-curated registry works
Checks Civil has put into place for non-rational behavior
Potential brainstorming:
What are the appropriate checks and balances for a decentralized system?
How might voters with limited time and attention span remember to reveal their votes to successfully earn rewards for their efforts?
