Dr Tchankue was conferred a doctorate at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa). He conducted research in the field of in-car communication systems. This research focussed on finding ways to reduce driver distraction caused by the use of mobile phones while driving. He published research papers in international and south african conferences.
