At the same time, they have to deal with the duties assumed during the bid for International Olympic Committee and the daily responsibility of offering good transport and road services for the city inhabitants. This paper reports how the transport and traffic departments are planning the traffic and transport networks for the event in the City of Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The topographic conditions limits the number of arterial connections and the social economic aspects related to modal split and urban segregation make the City of Rio de Janeiro an interesting case for future events in developing countries.]]>
