Research supervision is a key type of learning support provided to advanced university students engaged in research projects e.g. Provide a guide on methodology and research topics (Ismail, 2011). However, inadequate research supervision can adversely affect progress towards the completion of the degree. As an attempt to address these limitations, we proposed a new ambient learning approach known as Open Ambient Learning (OMAL).The approach aims at allowing flexible availability of supervisors to their research students that are in 'mobile-rich' but 'computer-poor ' learning settings, like the case in East African universities. ]]>
