There research on the effectiveness of Physical Therapy for back pain is not compelling. This presentation overviews the current evidence base and discusses the potential for classification of back pain to demonstrate stronger support for Physical Therapy. The Specific Treatment of Problems of the Spine (STOPS) trial protocol is then presented. This study was recently completed showing moderate to strong effect sizes favouring Physical Therapy over evidence-based advice. Note that the clinical protocol details in the presentation are examples only. For the full clinical protocol visit Physical Therapy Reviews]]>

https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/profile-photo-stopsbackpain-48x48.jpg?cb=1572676699 Our focus is optimising patient outcomes for physical therapists treating low back pain. We have developed an algorithmic and sophisticated approach to classifying low back pain patients and providing specific physical therapy treatment. Through online and face-to-face formats internationally we teach physical therapists these clinical methods. Through clinical mentoring and our clinical database we ensure that our physical therapists attain optimal clinical outcomes for their back pain patients. www.stopsbackpain.com.au https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/worldlbpcongressantwerpplenary291019fordfordistribution-191029132110-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/world-lbp-congress-antwerp-plenary-2019-188183508/188183508 World LBP congress Ant... https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/stopsrctfordetal2012-121002162648-phpapp02-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/stops-rct-ford-et-al-2012/14563076 STOPS RCT Ford et al 2012 https://cdn.slidesharecdn.com/ss_thumbnails/classificationofbackpainstops2012-120906160323-phpapp02-thumbnail.jpg?width=320&height=320&fit=bounds slideshow/classification-of-back-pain-stops-2012-14194985/14194985 Classification of back...
