We all know how important tourism is to our area. Its clear that the stadium can have a material positive impact on this important segment of our economy and provide the means by which to leverage our existing assets, provide our area with a competitive advantage and therefore a significant boost to future growth. Its important for me to point out here, that we should not think of the piece as an assessment of the economic impact with accounting-like precision and we should not position it as such. Rather I have tried to provide some insights into the many benefits, meaningful to the tourism business, along with an effort to quantify via directional assessment of their potential magnitude. Given that I have only included the obvious direct impacts, the total economic impacts to the area would necessarily be greater given the additional benefits induced from spending and known multiplier effects. ]]>
