He discovered his passion for photography when he was 13 years old. While he was studying photography in high-school he focused on photojournalism. He started his career working for a local daily. Later he moved to Great Britain. After Tomas returned to Slovakia he worked for a number of media outlets, including the Czech press Agency, ČTK, the daily Pravda and the News Agency of the Slovak Republic, TASR. He has been a freelance photographer since 2010. He is a co-founder as well as a chairman of the Association of visual journalists of Slovakia.
