I taught elementary and special education kids for four years before I completely burned out. To the point where I wanted to quit in the middle of the year and my husband promised me that if I made it to the end of the year, I would never have to teach again. I have been self-employed for the last 15 years first tutoring and then as an educational consultant and school psychologist. I love the freedom this provides for me. When two of my nephews and nieces were younger, I was able to help babysit them so that they didn’t have to go into daycare.
