Gondang dam is one of 49 dams built until 2019. Gondang dam was planned for completion by the end of 2017. It is expected to irrigate the fields in Sragen and Karanganyar with the total area of 4630 hectares and to fulfill the raw water needs of 0.2 m3/s. This research aimed to examine the inflow characteristic, water availability, and simulation model of reservoir operation in order to obtain optimal release target showing a percentage of irrigated area and its reliability. The inflow characteristic was analyzed using Mock model. The inflow data was generated over 20 years using Thomas-Fiering seasonal model. The generated data can be used for the simulation of reservoir operation determined using Standard Operating Rule method. The whole analysis was performed by Microsoft Excel software. The research result showed that inflow from Melikan watershed has an average value of 1.37 m3/s. The analysis of water availability showed that the average monthly water balance for multipurpose scenario has -5.16 MCM deficit and 1.225 MCM surplus in term of no release for raw water need. The simulation model of reservoir operation yielding an average percentage of irrigated area 100%, 90%, and 80% has respectively 26.83%, 63.83%, and 86.63% level of reliability. For fulfilling 100% irrigated area, the level of reliability obtained from simulation was 72.25%. Due to the simulation result in the case of no release for raw water, the percentage of irrigated area relatively increased 40.28%, 72.95%, and 94.27%, respectively, while the percentage of 100% irrigated area reliability gained an average of 76.5%. Thus in order to obtain 100% of reliability, it needs more water supply.]]>

The analysis of water availability showed that the average monthly water balance for multipurpose scenario has -5.16 MCM deficit and 1.225 MCM surplus in term of no release for raw water need. The simulation model of reservoir operation yielding an average percentage of irrigated area 100%, 90%, and 80% has respectively 26.83%, 63.83%, and 86.63% level of reliability. For fulfilling 100% irrigated area, the level of reliability obtained from simulation was 72.25%. Gondang dam was planned for completion by the end of 2017. It is expected to irrigate the fields in Sragen and Karanganyar with the total area of 4630 hectares and to fulfill the raw water needs of 0.2 m3/s. This research aimed to examine the inflow characteristic, water availability, and simulation model of reservoir operation in order to obtain optimal release target showing a percentage of irrigated area and its reliability. The inflow characteristic was analyzed using Mock model. The inflow data was generated over 20 years using Thomas-Fiering seasonal model. Quality, quantity, and water resources management problem from the village in the upstream area appropriately need more attention.The upstream that supply water resource with good quality and abundant actually didn’t well managed yet. As result, water resource not used efficiently and degraded in quality after flowing over from there. That is one of the reasons, how downstream and could have worse quality than upstream. Therefore, eco-village development which applies integrated and sustainable water resources and wastewater management system of the village in the upstream area is needed necessarily. Selected target area to develop this named dusun Braol, Desa Campursari, Kecamatan Ngadirejo, Kabupaten Temanggung, Jawa Tengah, is located 3 kilometers away from main upstream of Progo watershed. This area represents general condition of the village in the upstream area with every of their characteristic so much. Water resources in this place supplied from the river, spring, and well. The populations consist of 109 householders that 80% of it works as the farmer, with around 3.5 acres area as residential and 22 acres area as a farming field. Lacks of knowledge to handle and use water resources have consequences of inefficient water utilization in the village from quantity side nor energy use. Furthermore, society in upstream which uncommon with the utilization of septic tank and liquid waste processing facility result in water quality degradation. Things are accumulated into the downstream.Based upon data released by Pusat Pengelolaan Ecoregion Jawa Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup, discovered the water quality of Progo watershed is very well since the source, but within 12 kilometers in the downstream occurs degradation. To solve this problem, we design a system of wastewater treatment plant that placed beside the village fishery pools in the east of the village. The output of that plant which contains so much of organic substances will be streamed to the fishery pool so the organic substances of the water decreased. Then, the water will be streamed back to the irrigation channel. As to overcome the problem of the use of water channel as a latrine, we design a simple toilet facility in the same place as before. The water for the toilet facility is supplied from the public bathroom bin. The supply is done by a pipe with the gravitation energy. Our consideration to build the facilities in the same place as before is in order to not disrupt the lifestyle that has been settled in the society. With this simple concept, we hope that this system can blend with the thought and the lifestyle of the village society. Then the system can become a sustainable one and the village people have the commitment to keep its sustainability. In the end, we hope that this system can be truly realized, not only in one or two villages but in all village in the upstream.]]>
