As both a journalist and participant, I'm entrenched in the muddy, masochistic world of obstacle racing. I've been reporting on the industry since the summer of 2011, when a Tough Mudder promo video scared me senseless. My comedic essay about getting off the couch and tackling my first mudder landed on the cover of my local alt-weekly. My investigative feature about the origins of the company made the cover of Outside, and led to an assignment with 60 Minutes Sports. Most recently, I profiled Spartan Race superstar/ psychonaut, Hunter McIntyre, for the July cover of Men's Journal.
I'm currently working a feature documentary about the 'Rise of the Sufferfests.'
