I am a PhD student at Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina with over three years of experience in marketing, my fields of interest mainly are Competition, Competitors assessment and Service Innovation. Competitor analysis is an essential component of corporate strategy. A major force shaping competition within an industry is the threat of new entrants. The threat of new entrants is a function of both barriers to entry and the reaction from existing competitors.
My current research involves how incumbents respond to the threat of entry of competitors, as distinguished from their response to competitors’ actual entry.
