Mothyna James-Brightful can be described as an industrious woman. Affectionately known as Sister Mothyna her personal motto community development is a lifetime commitment, stands as proof of her intense belief in the communal family. During the past few years she has worked with several community organizations, including New Light Leadership Coalition, National Council of Negro Women, and the Urban Leadership Institute which are also committed to community development. Sister Mothyna has volunteered for the Feed the Homeless Baltimore Project, My Sisters Place Shelter, and Baltimore Walk for Lupus as well as other community programs. She was awarded the 2009 Governors Awar
