Emotional response to One second to the next
Watching the film one second to the next is an emotional documentary that will have you
thinking twice before you text and drive again. Through the whole video I could not help but feel bad
about the times when I texted and drove. It made me think what if the whole time, and it is a scary
thing to think about especially as a teenager.During the whole film I felt sorrow for the victims and their
families, and a sense of disbelief at the whole thing. I couldnt believe how just one text could cause so
much devastation in another familys life. With each passing story I continually got more depressed and
started to thinking about the instances when I would text and drive on the way to school or even just
around town. How could I be so selfish as to decide that that text was more important than the safety
of everyone around me? At the very end of the documentary I swore to myself that I would try to never
text and drive again because I do not value a text over a persons life. I do not wish to take someone
from another family, just like I wouldnt want someone else to take someone from my family over a
stupid text.
In the film the main driving factors behind my emotional response was how emotional the
speakers were and how upset they were while they were talking through the whole thing. Each time
they spoke you could see the pain and sorrow in their eyes as if they were reliving the incident while
they talked about it. Another thing was the emotionally sad and depressing background music that
played, causing my already sad emotions to get worse. The music even started to stir memories of my
own crash last year, no one was hurt, and brought back how I bad I felt and how sad I was at the time.
This video is an emotionally jarring thing to watch, but I have no regrets from watching it. It has
shown me what could have happened when I texted and drove, and I know now that it can wait no
matter the text.
