There are a lot of people who have missing teeth. Missing teeth can be embarrassing, and they can stop you from being able to eat the foods that you love. The solutions for missing teeth include the following;

Dental implants are the newest types of replacements for missing teeth. Tooth implants can replace one missing tooth, or a whole mouth full of missing teeth. The biggest reason that people are choosing dental implants to replace their missing teeth is because once they are installed they fuse to the jawbone of the patient and are more like natural teeth.
The majority of people can get dentures to replace their missing teeth, but tooth implants cannot be used by everyone. The patients that want the tooth implants must have a sufficient amount of bone on their jawbones to allow the titanium sections of the implants to be properly placed. Before you can decide whether or not you are going to be able to get the implantations you will need to see your dentist and allow them to take images of your jawbones to determine their density.
If you are a candidate you will have the titanium portion of the implant placed next to your jawbone through a surgical procedure. The titanium portion of the implant will become a part of the jawbone as the mouth heals. The jawbone will fuse around the titanium rod causing it to be immobilized, but this fusion will take several weeks, or even months before it is complete.
These newer tooth replacements cost more than the older versions because they are designed to be a permanent tooth replacement. The older dentures, and false teeth, were designed to last a few years, and then be replaced. So when you consider the cost of the implants you should consider the cost you will have to replace dentures when they wear out. The implants allow you to eat foods like corn on the cob, and apples, by biting into them like people with natural teeth do. The traditional dentures do not stay in place well enough for people to eat things that they have to bite into. People with traditional dentures cannot chew gum, but people with implants can chew gum.
Implants stay in place in the mouth so the people that have them clean them just like they clean their natural teeth. People with traditional dentures remove them and soak them in a solution to remove the debris. People with implants brush, and floss like people with natural teeth. Implants look so natural that most people will never know they are not your natural teeth. Some dentures look fairly realistic, but no removable denture looks as realistic as the implants do.
Not all dentist can do implant work for you. The dentist must be educated in the insertion of the titanium rods, and on how to determine which patients are good candidates for the procedure, and which ones are not good candidates. You should ask the dentist you normally see for a referral to a dentist that does work with implants.
