An intelligent personal assistant developed by Amazon lab 126. Named after the library of Alexandria , the keeper of all knowledge. Released in November 2014. Lives inside Amazons Echo smart speaker , among other devices. Goal inspired by the computer voice and conversational system on board the starship Enterprise in science fiction TV series and movies.
Capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to- do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audio books, and also providing weather, traffic, and other real time information. Can control smart devices using itself as a home automation hub like Googles Nest thermostat , Philips Hue etc.
