Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ayatollah As-Sayyid Ruhollah Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini
   Grand Ayatollah Sayyed meaning Grand Great Sign of God Minister but referred to as Khomeini or in Iran officially known as Imam Khomeini. He is most famous for his political role but was also a great religious figure in Iran. Khomeini was the leader of the revolution and strongly anti-American.

Is the Shah of Iran and Persia, who was a friend to the American people. Reining rule over Iran from 16 September 1941 until his overthrow by the Iranian Revolution on 11 February 1979.
Hassan Pakravan
 Hassan Pakravan was head of SAVAK until he ordered the assassination of Prime Minister Hassan Ali Mansur on January 21, 1965. Operation Ajax.

52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981, after a group of Islamist students and militants took over the American Embassy in support of the Iranian Revolution.After the Islamic failed to negotiate the release of the captured Americans, the US commenced a rescue (Operation Eagle Claw) attempt, consisting of the destruction of two aircraft and the deaths of eight American servicemen and one Iranian civilian as the mission was a failure.
