In BCCG, we were given a project to recreate the birdman movie poster. After facing a lot of difficulties, I finally made the poster by the help of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
2. A bit about Birdman (Film synopsis)
Former cinema superhero Riggan Thomson
(Michael Keaton) is mounting an ambitious
Broadway production that he hopes will breathe
new life into his stagnant career. It's risky, but he
hopes that his creative gamble will prove that he's
a real artist and not just a washed-up movie star. As
opening night approaches, a castmate is injured,
forcing Riggan to hire an actor (Edward Norton)
who is guaranteed to shake things up. Meanwhile,
Riggan must deal with his girlfriend, daughter and
ex-wife.
3. Birdman (The Poster)
The image you see on the right side is the official
poster of this movie. In this poster, there is a guy
shot from an around 45属 angle. The guy is
wearing a suit. Later the guy in illustrated and the
background is made in one color with no
gradient overlay.
After that models illustration, theres this bird
which, for sure, is a guy who sat this way, not the
real bird.
Later that bird is illustrated and moved on top of
this guys head.
4. Birdman Posters Model Shoot
My model for this poster was my classmate, named Abdul Rehman
This guy was way too lazy but ended up with a good picture. The
camera used to Nikon D5300 and settings were set to automatic.
Here is the final shot we selected for the poster.
5. Birdman Models illustrated picture
And here is the illustrated vector of the model, for the poster. The resolution
set for the original vector is 300 which is pretty good if I want to get the
thing printed for large scale.
Also, I removed the background of the image since I
want a single color overlay behind rather than the wall
that was there, originally.
6. Birdman Poster The bird Illustration
Well, at first, I created the illustration without illustrating the bird. I cropped
the bird from the original poster and copied it to my poster.
After showing it to my teacher, I was insulted really bad, to be honest. She
wanted me to illustrate the bird as well.
Hence, I had to illustrate the bird and make
the poster all over again. Here is the
illustration of the bird.
7. Final Poster (BIRDMAN)
And here is the final movie poster I created. This looks
almost exactly like the original poster. The only difference
is that the models are different.
This whole thing took me a few days to make and finally,
Im done with it.
