Kibbutz Ein Gedi was founded in 1956 and is located on the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. The Ein Gedi oasis was ranked 11th among the world's most interesting natural sites by National Geographic. The kibbutz is home to a unique botanical garden, containing around 1,000 plant species from five continents integrated among the homes of the 500 residents - making it the world's only botanical garden where people live.

Oaza Ein Gedi a fost clasat de ctre " National Geographic " pe locul 11 printre cele mai interesante i recomandate rezerva釘ii naturale din lume. Grdina botanic Ein Gedi Declarat grdin botanic 樽n 1994, este unic prin faptul c cele aproximativ 1000 de specii de plante de pe cinci continente sunt integrate printre casele din kibbutz.
