The folks at GMAC have been snooping around the world and looking at how over 30 countries are performing with regards to gender equality in an economic context. The question? Essentially, ¡°Where in the world is it hardest (and, conversely, the easiest) for women to do business and management?¡± The results? In some instances, as expected; in others, quite surprising. So, how do GMAC answer this question? By using several metrics: the Gender Inequality Index (GII), the number of women who undertook the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) in 2014, the year when women were admitted to university and gained suffrage, the number of women in government and senior management, and literacy rates.
