The Continua Health Alliance is a nonprofit organization comprised of healthcare and technology companies working collaboratively to establish universal standards for connected personal health systems. Its mission is to empower individuals and organizations to better manage health and wellness through an interoperable ecosystem of personal health technologies. There are over 176 member companies contributing to this effort. The challenge is that worldwide over a billion adults are overweight, 860 million have chronic diseases, and 600 million are elderly, accounting for 75-85% of healthcare spending.
