This document provides instructions for creating MLA-formatted bibliography cards (bibcards) for sources. Key steps include making a separate bibcard for each source; numbering the cards; entering source titles in alphabetical order; copying and pasting citations found at the bottom or top of articles or from citation generators; and copying URLs or pasting them into citation generators to include on bibcards. The goal is to have a bibcard for each source with a correctly formatted MLA citation.
Creating Bibcards
- 1. Bibcards Creating citations using MLA format Richelle ONeil, Prosper ISD
- 2. Make 1 bibcard for each source If you have 5 sources, you should have 5 bibcards Number your cards
- 3. Enter the title of each article in alphabetical order
- 5. Citation found at the bottom of the article Citations from Gale articles
- 6. Citation found at the top of the article Citations from Ebsco articles
- 7. URL (Website address) found in top right-hand corner Click on or copy/paste URL into www.bibme.com Citations from websites
- 8. If your URL doesnt work, search the site for your article Citations from websites
- 9. Right-click and copy the URL Citations from websites
- 10. Visit EasyBib.com and right-click and paste your URL Click Cite This Citations from websites
- 11. Click Create Citation Citations from websites
- 12. Copy and paste into your bibcard Citations from websites
