Objectives
≒ To define a clear and concise senior section framework to work within regardless of the
management team.
≒ To promote a high performance environment.
≒ To incorporate 2 in-service days per season for coach development.
≒ To create an environment that will promote a new positive, can do mentality amongst the
players.
≒ To define a clear coaching and playing philosophy that falls within our framework.
≒ To incorporate 3 training sessions per week with one being a strength and conditioning session.
≒ To incorporate sports science to educate and manage players fitness and nutrition.
≒ To outline a clear 3 year plan with goals that embody the ethos of Continental Star and enable
us to be self sufficient.
≒ For future 1st team coachs to be promoted from within the club.
Outcomes
≒ To have a high performance environment by paying attention to detail, doing
the simple things well and giving everyone respect.
≒ To have a seamless transition for players through the senior section up to the
1st team..
≒ To have an environment that will encourage our youth players to want to play
1st team football.
≒ To promote our most talented players to the 1st team regardless of age, If
youre good enough, youre old enough.
≒ To rid the club of the stereotypes that are associated with it from within and
wider society.
≒ To enable us to pay players and staff and be self sufficient through our
scholarship scheme.
Coaching Philosophy
≒ To encourage the teams to play football in the right way.
≒ To play a high tempo, fast flowing attacking style of football where possible.
≒ To make training sessions competitive, educational and enjoyable.
≒ To make training sessions replicate game situations by paint pictures for
players.
≒ Manipulate small sided games by adding conditions.
≒ To coach organisation, structure and discipline.
≒ To promote good decision making best pass for the team.
Philosophy
≒ The main formations will be 4-5-1 and variations around that such as
4-3-3, 4-4-1-1, 4-1-4-1. Formations will vary dependent on the available
playing personnel and the formation of the opposition.
≒ To eradicate The blame culture, we win as a team and lose as a team.
≒ To give players the confidence to play and understand their roles and
responsibilities individually and collectively.
≒ To encourage players to play with desire, passion and self-belief with a
work ethic that embodies the family ethos of the club.
≒ To promote a winning mentality but not at any cost.
Philosophy
≒ To promote a family environment and brotherhood amongst the
group.
≒ To promote and maintain a professional mentality and integrity of all
staff and players.
≒ To incorporate and enforce a coach and players code of conduct to
maintain the integrity of Continental Star, but also to educate the
youth with life skills and professional pride.
≒ To forge and maintain a healthy relationships between coaching staff
and players.
≒ To aid and support players wherever possible psychologically and
socially on and off the pitch.
Playing Philosophy
(Attacking)
≒ To play attractive, attacking, high intensity football with the aim to win
games.
≒ To encourage players to have the confidence to play out from the back
whenever the opportunity arises.
≒ To play forward, quickly through the fourths where possible.
≒ If a forward pass is not on to be patient and comfortable in possession and
switch the point of attack.
≒ To encourage intelligent movement off the ball by playing between and
behind the lines.
≒ To encourage creative players to express themselves in the right areas at the
right times.
Playing Philosophy
(Defending)
≒ To apply pressure to the ball in numbers (hunt in packs) and win
the ball back as quickly as possible.
≒ To hold a defensive line suitable to the oppositions style of play.
≒ To keep a compact shape and be disciplined.
≒ To use triggers, deny time and space in key areas.
≒ To work hard for each other and be willing cover for teammates
mistakes.
≒ To ensure each player knows their roles and responsibilities
individually and collectively.
Sports Science
(Development)
≒ For each senior team to have a physiotherapist on match days.
≒ To incorporate a weekly fitness/strength and conditioning session.
≒ To incorporate individual development plans for each player.
≒ For each player to record their progression.
≒ To conduct 3 fitness test per season (preseason, midseason and
post season).
≒ To have training sessions and matches filmed for coaching
development, performance analysis and player development.
Sports Science
(Treatment and Recovery)
≒ To have a sports physiotherapist available for each senior team.
≒ To encourage players to make use of the sports physiotherapist outside of
match days when available.
≒ To incorporate a pre-match activation routine such as foam rolling, resistance
band stretching.
≒ To incorporate a post-match recovery routines such as team warm down,
foam rolling and ice baths.
≒ To have an extensive list of injuries and their expected recovery durations.
≒ To have 2nd stage one-to-one position specific recovery sessions for players
coming back from injury.
1st year plan
≒ All coaching staff to be adhering to the senior section philosophy.
≒ To ensure all senior section coachs have or are enrolled on FA Level 1
(assistant coachs) and FA Youth Module 1.
≒ For a minimum of 3 players from the 2015/16 U18 squad to be regular 1st
team squad members for the 2016/17 season.
≒ To have 1 member of the squad go on trial at a professional club.
≒ To gain promotion from step 7 of non-league football to step 6 of non-league
football.
≒ To get to the later stages of a league cup competition (last 8 or 4).
≒ To be involved in a sports scholarship scheme that will allow us to cover
expenses for the 1st team physiotherapist.
2nd year plan
≒ To ensure all senior section coachs have or are in the process of taking
the FA Level 2 (assistants) and FA Youth Module 2.
≒ To have a minimum of 4 players from the 2016/17 U16/U18 squad as
regular 1st team squad members for the 2017/18 season.
≒ To have 3 squad members go on trial at professional clubs.
≒ To finish in the top 10 of step 6 in the non-league structure.
≒ To reach the final of a league cup competition.
≒ To be in a position to run a sports scholarship scheme ourselves.
3rd year plan
≒ For all coachs to be seriously considering a UEFA B coaching
qualification.
≒ For there to be a minimum of 5 players form the 2017/18 U16/U18
squad as regular 1st team members for the 2018/19 season.
≒ To have 4 players go on trial at professional clubs.
≒ To gain promotion to step 5 of the non-league structure.
≒ To have floodlights at the hub to enable us to be permanently based
there.
≒ To have an established scholarship scheme running.
