*Problem: I have been hired to re-design the
students lockers at a large public high school.
What Process would I use to tackles this
project?
*First: Find out about the facility size of area,
dimensions, design of facility
*Second: Interview staff/administrators to find
out their ideas and interest for the new space
*Third: Ascertain the budget and timeline for
the project
*Third: Research companies and products that
manufacture high school lockers
*Fourth: Research costs of manufactured lockers
versus custom made lockers
*Fifth: Produce a few prototypes of what the
design and materials could look like at various
cost points (within budget)
*Sixth: Gain feedback from staff and students
on the new potential designs
*Seven: Whittle down the list of prospective
designs to the most liked based on feedback
*Eight: Put together a final budget for the re-
design
*Nine: Develop project plan to complete the
deconstruction and re-construction of the
lockers
*Ten: Determine if the work must be done in
waves, so that some lockers are always
available and how many lockers must be
available in the interim period of construction
*Eleven: Find a contractor check references
*Twelve: Secure contract between school and
contractor
*Thirteen: Oversee the project during
construction.
